Third generation family businessIn 1929, Theodorus Stefanus Van der Laan opened a meat processing plant in Den Haag. A traditional butcher, Van der Laan soon recognised the enormous market potential of high grade canned meats. After the Second World War, his son Aad, born in 1925, rapidly developed the company into one of the leading international players in the sector of top quality meat products. Now, it is the third generation of the family Van der Laan that is driving the company's expansion. Under the leadership of Aldo van der Laan, the current general manager, the business has evolved into a corporation generating a turnover of € 350 million (2004). |
As of 2005, Zwanenberg Food Group has fourteen production facilities in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and sales offices in the Benelux, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. ZFG exports its quality meats and sausages and canned products to over 100 countries worldwide.
Halal specialistSince 1994, ZFG has specialised in producing halal products using certified halal raw materials. Over its years of catering to this market, ZFG has selected a limited number of highly reliable suppliers. The entire production is conducted in strict isolation and under close supervision. ZFG markets these products under its own brand name and under private labels and exports them across the world.
